At Eintracht, coach Niko Arnautis fielded almost the same eleven after the 3-1 win in Hoffenheim. Only Anyomi, who was ill for a short time, had to leave, and Chiba started instead.

On the other hand, Theresa Merk made three changes after the 0-1 loss against Essen. Instead of Gudorf, Steuerwald (yellow suspension) and Kolb, Steinert, Stegemann and Zicai started.

Freigang and Chiba turn the game

The Frankfurt team suffered a setback early in the game. Kayikci turned a free kick around the weak wall and hit the inside post to take the early lead (6th).

However, the hosts were the team that set the tone. After 16 minutes, Freigang equalized with a header from a corner. Freiburg hardly managed to relieve the pressure, but had the next big chance of the game through Campbell (33′).

In return, the SCF conceded the goal: once again a corner was decisive. Chiba gave Borggräfe no chance to defend in the visitors’ goal (34′). Frankfurt had to be wary of Kayikci’s set-piece – but she only hit the crossbar in the 42nd minute. So Eintracht went into the break with a well-deserved lead.

Frankfurt has secured CL qualification

Even after the break, the visitors from Breisgau had their first big chance, but Johanning parried against Schasching (48th). What the Freiburg team missed, Frankfurt did better: six minutes later, Freigang scored a brace after an assist from Hanshaw (54′). As a result, there were no big opportunities because the hosts let the ball run. Only Reuteler ignited a threat again in front of the opponent’s goal (76th).

The final phase offered a lot of scoring action. First Prasnikar missed the 4-1 twice (81st, 83rd), which Reuteler then managed to do in her 100th Bundesliga game (85th). This made it possible for the Frankfurt team to substitute players who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Almost with the final whistle, the Freiurgers did a little cosmetic work through Schasching. It remained a 4-2 home win for Eintracht, who as third in the table had already secured Champions League qualification on the penultimate matchday. Freiburg, on the other hand, leaves the field as a loser for the fifth time in a row.
