The Sacramento Kings: Disappointing 2023-24 NBA Season and Coaching Concerns

Have the Sacramento Kings been the most disappointing team of the 2023-24 NBA season? Possibly not, but that does not mean that the unpleasantness is a reality in the capital of California, where they simply expected more from their team.

After breaking a huge and disastrous streak of 16 seasons without reaching the playoffs a year ago, the team was currently expected to confirm such a step forward. However, they fell by the wayside when they lost against the New Orleans Pelicans in a play-in in which their rival did not have their great star: Zion Williamson.

Such a reality has caused management to show its discontent with its head coach, Mike Brown. According to James Ham, local journalist from The Kings Beatit has not felt good to the owners not to repeat the success of last year and as such they have made their coach feel it.

At this point it goes without saying that Brown’s head is not in danger, but it is certainly not a good sign that the franchise’s confidence in him is diminished in this way. If the 2024-25 season begins with a good number of wins, it is likely that all this will be forgotten, but otherwise it is obvious that the seed has already been planted to think that the problem is on the bench.

Before being able to assess what happens next October, there is a long period between seasons in which it is necessary to check if the Kings are aggressive in the market, if they choose to save their clothes and throw with what they have, and finally if The path chosen is the right one.
