The Red Devils of Basketball Secure Promising Talent from Mexico for Caliente.mx LNBP Debut

The Red Devils of Basketball have secured one of the most promising talents in Mexico for his debut in Caliente.mx LNBP League.

Gael Bonillanational team and former Barcelona player, will be the centerpiece of the scarlet team for the 2024 season.

Bonilla, 21 years old, arrives with extensive experience despite his youth. His last performance was in the LEB Oro, the second division of Spanish basketball, with Cáceres CB.

During the season, Bonilla played 33 games, recording averages of 7.6 points, a field goal efficiency of 50.5 percent, 4.8 rebounds, 2 assists, a rating of 10.5 and 22:28 minutes per game.

Bonilla’s career has been remarkable. Trained in the Barcelona youth academy, he rose from the youth ranks to debut with the first team in March 2021 in the Euroleague, facing the Turkish Fenerbahçe.

He then played with the Capitanes de la Ciudad de México in the G League during the 2022-2023 season, before returning to Barcelona and eventually joining Cáceres. Bonilla withdrew his name from the 2023 NBA Draft to continue developing in Europe.

With Bonilla as the first official addition, the Red Devils of Basketball are building a competitive squad for their debut in the highest Mexican basketball circuit.
