(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, MAY 26 – The 49th edition of the ‘100 kilometers of the Passatore’, the ultramarathon starting from Piazza del Duomo in Florence and finishing in the center of Faenza, goes to the archives with the victory of Federico Furiani, in the Ravenna area. At the finish line in 7 hours 10 minutes and 57 seconds, Furiani preceded Massimo Giacopuzzi and David Colgan.
On the women’s track, Federica Moroni triumphed, 13th overall with a delay of over 42 minutes from the pacesetter ahead of Serena Natolini, 15th overall and Silvia Luna, 16th overall. Starting from the Tuscan capital at 3pm yesterday, the 2024 edition of the race – which saw 2,894 athletes at the start out of over 3,300 registered – greeted ‘King’ Giorgio Calcaterra as race director after fifteen consecutive editions of which 12 were won by line. Armed with the ‘Passatore hat’ and a megaphone on board the historic Jeep leading the race, Calcaterra took the baton from the late Pietro ‘Pirì’ Crementi, historic race director of the Florence-Faenza and one of the founding members of the famous ultramarathon.
