Sport Austria Finals 2024: A Spectacular Event for All Ages in Innsbruck and Tyrol

The Sport Austria Finals 2024 powered by Austrian Lotteries feature a (supporting) program that will appeal to both young and old.

Innsbruck and Tyrol are transformed into Austria’s largest sports arena for four days of competition.

Sports field Tyrol

Even more space for the Sport Austria Finals powered by Austrian Lotteries. After three successful events in Graz, the multi-sport spectacle is getting an upgrade when it moves to Innsbruck. The whole of Tyrol is part of the event: with wakeboarding in Area 47, dance sport in Telfs, weightlifting in Rum or baseball in Schwaz. Perfect for a day trip with stops at various events!

Olympia-Flair in Innsbruck

Innsbruck has already hosted the Winter Olympics three times: in 1964, 1976 and 20212. The finals will bring Olympic flair back to the Tyrolean capital in 2024 and 2025. The numbers speak for themselves: more than 6,500 athletes from 31 associations and 42 sports are taking part.

Tinnitus alarm during cheerleading at Olympiaworld

Fan-Omenal

The wrestlers from RSC Inzing are counting on the home advantage for their finals premiere – and are promising a “cauldron” in the Olympic Village middle school. The cheerleading in the Olympiaworld is also guaranteed to be loud, but two to three tones higher. A total of more than 50,000 spectators are expected.

Free entry

Come along, entry is free! There is no more sport than in the week of decisions. And the best thing: no tickets are required, entry is free. Perfect for those who decide at short notice, just look for the right events in the program and come along!

Stars, Stars, Stars

Olympic medalists! World and European champions! Champions League winners! All of them and more will be competing in the Sport Austria Finals. For climbing aces Jessica Pilz and Jakob Schubert, the national title decision is an Olympic dress rehearsal, as is it for archer Elisabeth Straka. Austria’s best cheerleading teams are testing for the European Championships.

Participation action

Cheering on Austria’s best athletes isn’t enough for you? Then come to the Decathlon Participation Day on Friday (from 1 p.m.) and Saturday (from 10 a.m.) and test your sporting skills and discover new sports! From the XXL bobsleigh push track to the pump track and the skateboard course, everything is there. What’s more: we guarantee fun!

20 years of Racketlon – the “racket four-way competition” celebrates an anniversary at the finals.

Party-Alarm

The Racketlon Federation Austria is celebrating its 20th birthday – and has chosen a very special location for the anniversary. On June 1, 2024, the celebration will take place on the finals stage in front of the Tyrolean State Theater. RFA President Marcel Weigl: “We started from scratch, today we have 30 clubs and 1,500 registered athletes. And the number is rising!”

Unique setting

Golden Roof, Hofburg, Ambras Castle, Nordkette. It is not without reason that Innsbruck is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The breathtaking backdrop guarantees spectacular images – whether climbing with a view of the impressive mountain panorama, roller tobogganing on the Bergisel, orienteering in the city or disc golf in the Seefeld Sports Arena.

Splendour and glory

There can only be one! Medals for the Austrian National Championships are the highest national sports award. And also an object of desire for highly decorated athletes. There are silver and bronze medals for those who come second and third.

The heart of the finals

Hits the square in front of the Tyrolean State Theater. Everything comes together here – from the opening ceremony on Wednesday with the first title decision in orienteering to mini golf and curling, from the Decathlon participation days on Friday and Saturday to the daily winners’ awards. In other words: a place to be!

Living inclusion

Sport brings people together, as the Sport Austria Finals prove in their fourth edition. People with physical and mental disabilities compete in several sports. The best sailors will be determined for the first time in an inclusion class at Lake Achensee, the Austrian Disabled Sports Association will be taking part for the fourth year with small-field football, and Special Olympics will be bringing various demo sports to Innsbruck.

Fast & Furious

The mountain is calling – and the best roller tobogganers in the country are coming. What the ice channel in Innsbruck-Igls is in winter, the Bergisel will be at the finals – a tobogganing hotspot in a class of its own. Local hero Riccarda Ruetz and co. will accelerate their roller toboggans to almost 100 km/h. At the same place, for the first time in the finals program: skibob!

Newcomers and comebackers

There are numerous new sports in the program, including archery, wrestling, climbing, sailing, skibob, judo, weightlifting and skateboarding. Disc golf is back, as is dance sport, which, after rock’n’roll and breaking, will delight the audience this year with formation dancing (Latin, standard).
