Intense emotions and great results for the ASD Judo Valle Maira, which participated in the AICS National Championship held on Sunday 21 April in the Codogno (VA) arena and in the A2 qualification of the Italian Junior / Senior Championships, Saturday 27 April in the Leinì arena ( TO).
The day of April 21st saw the conquest of two golds by the Dronero sports association: that of the athlete Penone Yuri and that of the athlete Marchiò Claudia.
Penone Yuri (90 kg) ranked first by winning two matches for IPPON. First place also for Marchiò Claudia (70 kg) who won two matches for IPPON (technical knockout)
On Saturday 27 April, however, in the Leinì building, the sports association was represented by two athletes: Varetto Marco and Bertolotti Giorgio.
Varetto Marco (kg 81) ranked third, losing the first match by a narrow margin and winning the second match for IPPON: with this result he qualified for the final. Bertolotti Giorgio (73 kg) instead lost the first match due to carelessness, was never recovered for third place and therefore unfortunately saw his access to the final vanished.
April’s sporting events did not end here. In fact, on Sunday 28 April, the Youth Grand Prix event took place in the Leinì arena, during which the ASD also participated, represented by five very young athletes: Nessi Anita, Olivero Nathan, Garino Rachele, Granata Edoardo and Garino Giulio:
- CHILDREN’S CATEGORY Nessi Anita and Olivero Nathan ranked second;
- CHILDREN’S CATEGORY Garino Rachele took second place while Granata Edoardo took the third step of the podium;
- CHILDREN’S CATEGORY Garino Giulio ranked second.
