Senegalese Badminton Federation Wins Award for Best African Federation

The Senegalese Badminton Federation won the award for the best African Federation for the promotion and inclusion of badminton, during the World Federation Conference held on April 26 in Chengdu, China. The prize was awarded to Antoine Diandy known as Tony, president of the Senegalese Federation, for the work accomplished.

It is a great honor for this new Federation which, in a short time, was able to give this discipline, hitherto little known in our country, great promotion, thus allowing practitioners to travel to certain regions, the time to make a much larger mesh.

As a reminder, since 2020, the Senegalese Badminton Federation has begun a phase of development of the discipline, massification, promotion and especially the management of the elite, without forgetting the training which is the basis of any business. In this dynamic, she has trained tutors, teachers, coaches, technical officials and competition organizers.

“We have a vision of growth in view of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which will take place in 2026 in Dakar. We said to ourselves that we were going to start with the small category, with the U15s, progress with them until 2025 in the U17s, to enter in 2026 with young badistas who will be aged 18. Especially since for the Joj, it is young people under 18 who are involved,” Tony Diandy explained to the Aps.
