THE MORE THAN 8,000 PEOPLE AT MANGA WORLD AND CADEBA CONFIRM THE ISLAND’S CULTURAL AND SPORTS ATTRACTION
A weekend full of events in the city that attracts a good number of visitors who have enjoyed the Spanish Basketball Championship and the first edition of the San Fernando Manga World.
The island town has experienced a new weekend full of events that have brought together a multitude of visitors. This is the case of San Fernando Manga World or the Spanish Cadet Basketball Championship that have been held these days and that, between both events, have brought together more than 8,000 people. A very positive balance is made by the City Council, since it responds to the strategic model of Tourism that covers much more than the sun and the beach, trying to enhance and energize the economic sectors throughout the year.
Under this premise, the San Fernando Manga World was held, with around 6,000 people attending this first edition of the event that sought to gain a foothold in the sector in the province’s panorama. They have also come from other parts of Andalusia, this being an open-air experience, different from the rest of the manga salons held in other locations. In addition to the attractiveness of the event itself, the fact is that, since it is held in Bahía Sur, rail connectivity has caused visitors to use public transportation to attend. The flow of visitors has occurred during all times of both days, since there have been people who have gone all day or at various times.
The Councilor for Tourist Destination, María Gómez, has highlighted the success of the first edition, with her sights set on the next edition. “We had the intuition that a room with these characteristics could work and that it has been certified,” she commented. The councilor points out that another event of “great relevance to the wide offer that the city has and that has already been taken into account for improvements in future editions” is being added.
For all audiences
Key to this success, according to the organizing company, Jaque Mate Eventos, is the programming of activities for all audiences, with special relevance for the Yellow Humor spaces and the performances on the main stage. It should be noted that artisans have arrived from all over Andalusia, which has led to this sector being cared for and revitalized.
On the other hand, the Spanish Cadet Basketball Championship has been held these days with the participation of the most prominent clubs on the national scene. An event that has brought together more than 2,000 people in the different pavilions, including teams, staff, referee teams, family members and the audience.
“In the same way as in championships such as Mini Basket, these sporting events encourage not only the arrival of visitors to attend the matches, but also to shop, eat or stroll through the shops and hospitality establishments of San Fernando,” in the words by María Gómez.
In short, these types of events make San Fernando become a city where important things happen and that is marked on the map of municipalities with a tourist attraction that encompasses, in addition to a five-star beach, cultural, sports and gastronomic offers.
