Renovations Coming to Holliday Park: Ice Rink and Basketball Court Getting Makeover

The ice rink and basketball court at Holliday Park in Sept-Îles will be getting a makeover in the coming months. The City of Sept-Îles will renovate both sites.

New boards and new lighting will be installed for the ice rink. There will also be partial repairs to the platform (bituminous coating). The playing surface will be larger, 200 feet x 85 feet, of regulatory size.

The director of the Recreation Department, Noémie Gauthier, talks about aluminum boards to replace the wooden ones, which were the oldest of the municipality’s ice rinks.

Pavage Béton TC will carry out the work. They amount to $274,500.

Depending on the next plans for parks and green spaces, there could possibly be bleachers and a roof for the Holliday Park ice rink. Recreation Department leaders worked with the basketball committee to meet their needs.
