Remembering Magali Eléouet: A Tribute to a Beloved Friend and Community Leader

The comments on her Facebook page say a lot about the many friends she had. On this page, she spoke about her illness, cancer, which exhausted her in everything. In movement, in words and even in writing.

Magali Eléouet, known to almost all Carpentras residents, died on Sunday April 28, early in the evening, at the Sainte-Catherine clinic in Avignon. Despite his combativeness that everyone knew him to have, the illness that had broken out two years ago was stronger. Too much. She will have fought until the end. Recounting on his Facebook page, without complaining, just this weariness of palliative care and “his desire for the outdoors“. She left with dignity and surrounded by her family. Magali was 67 years old.

Engaged at the Conservatory of Sports Heritage

Since the announcement of his death, comments have been pouring into his Facebook page. Everyone salutes his sportsmanship, his love for his loved ones, his friends, and animals. His disappearance moves the entire sporting and associative world of Carpentras. Starting with the Athletic Union (UAC) where she started in the middle distance, before perfecting her throwing skills while enjoying coaching the younger generation.

Mag’, as many nicknamed her, was also her love for archery with the Saint-Siffrein Archers with whom she participated in competitions without abandoning athletics. She obviously loved fitness walking but also choir, music theory…

Originally from Marseillaise but Carpentrassian at heart, she loved to help the members of the Conservatory of Sports Heritage, alongside its president Jean-François Brun.

For several years, Magali Eléouet has also been providing sports coaching advice in the gym to Bédoin, while remaining close to the UAC.

Press correspondent at La Provence

Magali Eléouet was a press correspondent for the editorial staff of Provence in Carpentras, in the 90s, at the time of Provençal. Very involved in politics, part of the socialist party, she presented herself on the “Carpentras en commun” list, led by Mina Idir, with a view to the municipal elections of Carpentras in 2020.

Many people will remember Magali Eleouet. At the Sedaine stadium, they already miss her.

To Daniel Eléouet, his husband, his children, his family and his loved ones, the editorial staff of “La Provence” presents its sincere condolences.

The funeral will take place on Friday May 10, at 10 a.m., at the Orange crematorium.
