Attacker Simon Terodde from FC Schalke 04 will end his career in the summer. The striker is still the player with the most goals in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Record goalscorer Simon Terodde ends his career at the end of the 2nd Bundesliga season. Terodde’s club Schalke 04 announced this on Thursday. The 36-year-old Gelsenkirchen captain had recently informed the team about his departure, it was said.

Top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga four times

Terodde is the most successful attacker in the second division: he was top scorer four times and scored 177 goals in 310 appearances. Terodde has five goals this season. On Tuesday, Schalke secured relegation with a 4-0 (2-0) win at VfL Osnabrück.

Terodde has been playing for S04 since the 2021/22 season and led the club back to the Bundesliga with 30 goals this season. In the following season he was unable to avoid relegation; in the Bundesliga, Terodde scored 15 goals in 90 games.
