Pini Gershon, who coached at Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv between 1998/01 – 2003/06 and 2008/10 and won two championships in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, talked about Ergin Ataman in the podcast All In.
Saying that Ergin Ataman talks more than coaching, Gershon thinks that Ataman is closer to coaching in Turkey than coaching in Greece next season:
”Ergin Ataman talks more than coaching. I understand the pressure on him because he is closer to coaching in Turkey next season than in Greece. It looks like Maccabi will decide where he will coach. “He and Giannakopoulos created a narrative to put pressure on the referees, but Panathinaikos’ behavior in recent years does not sway the Euroleague to their side.”
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos AKTOR face each other tonight at 21.45 in the fourth match of the series. While Maccabi has a 2-1 lead in the series, Ergin Ataman’s students will be eliminated if they lose tonight.
