PHOTO ⟩ More than 2,600 runners “Dubuļu Styrn buks” on the Rēzekne side

For the first time since 2016, the stage of the popular trail running series “Stirnu buks” returned to Latgale. This time in Kaunata parish, Rēzekne district. More than 2,600 runners participated in total.

The participants of the royal distance “Vilks” started from the Art Nouveau pearl of Latgale – Lūznava manor, but finished in the highest Latvian village Dubuli, Kaunatas parish, Rēzekne district, where the participants of all other distances also ran their races.

On the way, they visited an ancient Latgali castle hill, the vast Balda forest with the Balda water mill, Vēžukrog, Mākoņkalns (also Padebešu kalns) (249 m above sea level) and the Volkenberg castle ruins (13th century), a viewing terrace with a great view of the Latgale sea – Lake Rāzna and the small Ubogova lake.
