Phoenix Suns Hire Mike Budenholzer as New Head Coach, Successor to Frank Vogel

The Phoenix Suns have found what they are looking for when looking for a successor for coach Frank Vogel. The NBA team announced that Mike Budenholzer will be the new head coach of the Suns.

Vogel had to leave after just one season. After a disappointing main round, the Suns failed 4-0 in their first playoff duel with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Budenholzer most recently coached the Milwaukee Bucks from 2018 to 2023 and led them to the championship title in the final series against the Suns in 2021. Before that, he worked for the Atlanta Hawks. According to media reports, he will receive over $50 million over five years in Phoenix.

“Mike has proven to be one of the most successful head coaches in the NBA. He is the right leader to take us to the next level and achieve our championship goals,” said Suns owner Mat Ishbia.
