This golden double bodes very well, just under three months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place from Friday July 26 to Sunday August 11.

The French men’s team was made up of Jean-Charles Valladont, Thomas Chirault and Baptiste Addis. During the final, the French left no chance to Italy, who lost heavily 6-0 (53-51, 52-50, 57-56). For their part, the French Lisa Barbelin, Caroline Lopez and Amélie Cordeau defeated the Netherlands in the final with a score of 5-3 (55-55, 50-51, 52-51, 52-50) . These two national teams had not been crowned, at continental level, since 2014.

At the end of these finals, Thomas Chirault reacted, in comments reported by theAFP : “We are in the final stretch before the Paris Olympic Games and we needed that little spark to take the team to the highest level. We managed to light it. » For her part, Lisa Barbelin, the leader of this French women’s team, added: “We gave everything we could in this final and I am very proud of us. » These European archery championships are not yet over. Some French people can also go for an individual medal.

Among the men, this Sunday afternoon, Baptiste Addis and Jean-Charles Valladont will compete to try to win the bronze medal. Among the ladies, Lisa Barbelin, European individual champion in 2021, can also still hope to leave with an individual bronze medal. To achieve her goals, the Frenchwoman will have to beat the Italian Tatiana Andreoli.
