For the 16th stage, the relay will take place in seven distinct scenes, before the lighting of the cauldron and the final celebrations within the framework of Futuroscope, the famous technological leisure park. For this stage, 82 porters were mobilized.

From 8:45 a.m. this Saturday, the flame takes off in Loudun (arriving at 9:28 a.m.). The departure is set in front of the public school of Martray, for a route taking the boulevards of May 8, 1945, Jean Pascault and Guy Chauvet. Once in front of the town hall, the flame will head towards the municipal stadium, via avenue de Leuze and rue du Stade.

A tour of Poitiers Cathedral

After which, Neuville-de-Poitou (10 a.m.-10:20 a.m.) will be honored. There, the relay will consist of a departure and arrival at the Espace Jean-Dousset via rue de la Jeunesse, after a loop visiting the Serge Delhumeau stadium, the Poitou intercommunal swimming pool, the tennis club, as well as the René stadium -Garnaud II.

In turn, Châtellerault will host the ballet of porters (departure: 11:09 a.m., arrival: 12:06 p.m.). The flame will start from the Ozon market via avenue Pierre-Abelin, then cross the Vienne river for the first time via the Camille de Hogues Bridge. It will follow the river for a short time on the west bank and will cross the watercourse again via the Henri IV bridge. Via the quays, the relay will go to Sainte-Catherine Island and will make a U-turn, heading for the town hall.

Then, the relay will make a detour via Château-Larcher (12:28 p.m.-12:48 p.m.). Departure from the school group and arrival at the Théâtre de verdure, via the city center. In Montmorillon (3:02 p.m. – 3:40 p.m.), the stroll is planned from the Saint-Laurent chapel, before crossing the Gartempe, a passage in front of the town hall, a turn at the Prosper-Mérimée media library and a final stop at Place de la Victoire .

In Charroux (3:57 p.m.-4:17 p.m.), a major pilgrimage site in Santiago de Compostela, the relay will take place between the multipurpose hall and the abbey, with passages in front of the Romain-Rolland college and the Tour residence hall. . The rest goes through the community of communes of Greater Poitiers (5:27 p.m.-6:28 p.m.). The first torchbearer will start from the Golden Triangle park. The following will lead the relay beyond the Clain, in front of the Saint-Pierre de Poitiers cathedral, then the town hall.

The lighting of the Olympic cauldron will take place at Futuroscope

There, Émilie Le Pennec, gold medalist at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, will carry the torch in a relay run by athletes from the FFGym, to the buildings of the prefecture and the Department. The arrival will be at the Palace of the Dukes of Aquitaine.

From there, you will have to travel further north for the festivities organized at the Futuroscope Arena, located just in front of the park entrance.

The celebration site will be free and open to all from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The arrival of the last torchbearer and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron will take place at 7:20 p.m. To wait for them, a DJ will be there. A giant screen and various activities are planned on site.
