Olympiakos eliminates Barcelona and joins Real Madrid in Euroleague semi-finals

After the cruel elimination of Monaco against Fenerbahçe (80-79) in overtime, Wednesday, during the decisive match 5, Olympiakos is the last team to join the Final Four of the Euroleague.

The Greeks, who were trailing 2-1 after their defeat on their floor (82-80) in match 3, overthrew Barcelona. After returning to 2-2 thanks to their very clear victory in Greece (92-58) in match 4, the teammates of French pivot Moustapha Fall brought down Nicolas Laprovittola’s Barça (17 points) in Spain on Wednesday evening (63- 59).

In front at halftime (27-25), Barcelona widened the gap in the middle of the third quarter (38-30) and still had a five-point lead at the start of the fourth (47-42). But the Spaniards then suffered a terrible 15-2 from which they never recovered.

In the semi-finals in Berlin (May 24), Olympiakos will face Real Madrid. The other half will pit Fenerbahçe against Panathinaikos.
