OL women join PSG in the Championship final after a demonstration against Reims

The match: 6-0

While PSG was very scared on Saturday to eliminate Paris FC (2-2, 5-4 on the tabs), the suspense did not have time to build during the second semi-final of the Championship of France women, this Sunday. Very upset against the introduction of the play-offs, while they had flown through the regular season, the Lyonnaises marched on Reims (6-0) to join PSG in the final.

The sixth duel against the Parisiennes this season (four wins for OL, one draw) will take place on Friday at Groupama Stadium (9 p.m.). Reims will challenge PFC at Charléty a little earlier during the small final (6 p.m.), the winner of which will land a ticket for the preliminary rounds of the Champions League.

After finishing the regular season with a 26-point lead over Reims, Lyon stifled the Champenoises from the start, in front of 11,110 spectators. Installed in the opponent’s thirty meters, Sonia Bompastor’s players cracked the Reims wall on a set piece, when captain Wendie Renard appeared on a poorly returned ball (12th). Their immense domination was then validated by two magnificent left-handed strikes from outside the area, the first from Daniëlle van de Donk (36th) and the second from Amel Majri, in great form (43rd, see below ).

At 3-0, Lyon did not relax, and the score could have been much heavier at half-time if Kadidiatou Diani had been less clumsy (23rd, 42nd, 45th). The former Parisienne finally adjusted her right foot to continue the festival with a double (57th, 66th), and Melchie Dumornay also participated in the party (58th). In this context, Lyon was able to revive its 2018 Ballon d’Or Ada Hegerberg, who entered for the last quarter of an hour (77th), even though she had not played again for two months due to a large bruise.

The player: Majri raises her voice

Not included in Hervé Renard’s list for the April gathering, Amel Majri is in the process of having a very high-level end to the season, which could allow her to return to the Blues very quickly, with a view to the Paris Olympics. The 31-year-old left-hander, who scored the winning goal in the Champions League semi-final first leg against PSG (3-2) then again capitalized with an assist in the return (2-1), played again a major role this Sunday against the Rémoises. After lighting the first fuses on his left wing (7th, 10th), Majri scored an exceptional goal for 3-0 before the break, with a left shot from 25 meters which lodged in the left corner.
