Like last year, the Florida Panthers eliminated the Boston Bruins in the playoffs of the NHL professional ice hockey league thanks to Gustav Forsling. The Dallas Stars are also further.
With their third away win in a row, the team from the Sunshine State won 4-2 in the best-of-seven quarterfinal series, and Florida will face the New York Rangers in the conference finals.

Forsling scores in the last minute to win
For the Panthers, who defeated Boston in the first round last season on their way to the final (4:3), the Swede Forsling scored late on Friday (May 17, 2024 / local time) for a 2-1 victory (59. Minute). After the Bruins took the lead through Pavel Zacha (20th), Anton Lundell (33rd) equalized. Forsling is the first defenseman in Panthers franchise history to win a playoff series.
The duel with the Rangers begins for Florida on Wednesday. New York advanced with a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and became the first club to reach the semi-finals. The Panthers clearly failed in the final series last year against the Vegas Golden Knights (1:4).
Marathon match between Dallas and Colorado
The Dallas Stars are also one round further – after a marathon match. The Texans won the sixth game against the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 after the second overtime, Matt Duchene scored the winner in the 92nd minute and made it 4-2 in the best-of-seven series. Duchene played his first six years in the NHL for the Avalanche and was the number three draft pick in 2009.
This means that three out of four semi-finalists have been determined. In the west, Dallas meets the Vancouver Canucks or the Edmonton Oilers around the German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl. The Canucks lead 3-2 in the duel, game six takes place on Sunday night (CEST).
