NBA will not suspend Jamal Murray for throwing objects onto the court in an unsportsmanlike manner

Jamal Murray will have to pay thousands of dollars for throwing an insulated bag onto the court during the Nuggets’ game against the Timberwolves, but the NBA decided that the attitude did not merit a suspension.

After the game that the Denver Nuggets lost 106-80 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second game of the Western Conference semifinals, point guard Jamal Murray became news because in the midst of enormous frustration, he threw a thermal bag to the court. Now the punishment that he will receive from the NBA is known, which will not be a suspension.

The Canadian must pay $100,000 for his attitude, which was reflected in videos broadcast in different media. That will be, however, the only consequence that the basketball player will have.

“It’s inexcusable and dangerous,” Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said when he spoke to reporters after what happened. He also added: “I’m sure it was simply a mistake and an oversight. “I’m sure there was nothing intentional on the part of the referee team, but we certainly can’t allow this kind of thing to happen.”

For his part, Nikola Jokic, Murray’s teammate, acknowledged: “I never lose my emotions and Jamal should never do it again.” Nuggets coach Mike Malone distanced himself from giving his opinion by saying that he did not know that the player had been the author of the incident.

Draymond Green is another of the figures who gave his judgment on what happened and said: “It’s crazy how people automatically start asking for suspensions nowadays. “I really don’t understand it.” He further added that he came across this demand on the Internet from many people, while he, after watching the video, already knew that he would not be suspended.

Although the basketball player will have to pay a significant sum, his activity will continue, which is why he will be part of the game on May 10.
