Miron Muslic: Rising Star in European Football Coaching?

Miron Muslic has done a lot of self-promotion in the last few months.

The Austrian coach is having an excellent season with the Belgian underdog Cercle Bruges. With two game days to go, Cercle is in fourth place in the Belgian championship playoffs and thus a European Cup place. If the Bruges team brings home this place, it would be the best placement in the Belgian upper house in their club history, along with the 2007/08 season.

Under Muslic, Cercle, the youngest team in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, has developed into the most effective and intensive pressing team in Europe’s top 10 leagues.

New club would have to pay millions in transfer fees

These key figures have long since brought larger clubs onto the scene. As “Sky” reporter Philipp Hinze reports on “X”, clubs from Germany and Italy contacted Muslic last winter. These were initially rejected after the 41-year-old extended his contract in Bruges in December 2023, but interest still exists.

Now, starting in the summer, Muslic feels ready for the next step, reports Hinze. The ex-FAC and Ried coach would be available for a contractually agreed transfer fee of one to two million euros.
