Mexican Youth Archery Team Dominates Pan American Championships 2024 with Seven Finalists

The national youth archery delegation that competes in the Pan American Youth Championship and Masters 2024, installed seven of its members in six different finals of the individual events.

After an afternoon in which vibrant eliminatory clashes were played, Mexico emerged as the best-ranked and dominant nation, as it will compete for the gold medal in women’s and men’s U-21 recurve, women’s and men’s U-21 compound, women’s U-21 recurve -18 and men’s sub-18 compound.

Fernanda Salas and Juan Téllez (under-21 recurve), Adriana Castillo, Carlos Flores and Elías Reyes (under-21 compound), Yareni Chab (under-18 recurve) and Víctor Portillo (under-18 compound) are the Aztec archers who will shoot for the glory; Flores and Reyes will star in a Mexican final, so the country secured 1-2 on the podium in that category.

In addition to the multiple passes to the decisive duels, the national representative obtained the first medal from the hand of Javier Márquez, who won bronze by defeating his compatriot Osvaldo Ramírez 6-4, in one of the most striking matches of the day.

The team that participates in the competition held in El Salvador will jump back into the shooting range tomorrow to try to win the quotas for the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, while the finals to which they qualified will be held on Sunday.
