Pramac Racing driver Jorge Martin call beat Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia increase his class as a rider MotoGP.
Jorge Martin has had a good 2024 MotoGP so far. Of the four racing series, the Spanish rider has won twice at the French MotoGP and the Portuguese MotoGP.
This achievement also makes Jorge Martin lead the 2024 MotoGP standings with 80 points. With a distance of more than 20 points from the rivals below him, the 26 year old racer is enjoying the moment of smoking two competitors, namely Marquez and Bagnaia.
“In MotoGP, it feels great to have Marc [Marquez] who are competing and that’s good for me. Because he took on the challenge of beating Marquez or Pecco [Bagnaia] improve my class,” said Martin as quoted by Crash.
Martin, who has started racing in MotoGP since 2021, feels proud to be able to compete with Marquez and to have raced with Valentino Rossi for one season. Martin even dreams of being on the same team as Marquez, who now both ride Ducati.
“I really want to be in the same garage with him one day. Maybe also with Valentino [Rossi]. That will be history. Having competed with him is something special. “I already feel competitive with him, but as a partner it would be brutal,” he said.
Last season, Jorge Martin was the strongest contender to win. He finished in second place behind Bagnaia who secured the title for the factory Ducati team.
“You have to clear your good name and try to be stronger all the time. Because this is not easy,” he said.
Furthermore, Jorge Martin will try to maintain the top position in the standings at the Catalunya MotoGP this weekend. The 2024 Catalunya MotoGP schedule will roll out on Sunday (26/5).
