Local Officials and Sports Department Collaborate to Revitalize Hometown Love Donation System

On the 1st, Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center (Director Moon Byeong-gi) made a mutual donation with Naju City Sports Promotion Department (Manager Yang Cheol-soo) to revitalize the Hometown Love Donation System.

About 20 employees, including Mayor Byeong-ki Moon and Sports Promotion Department Manager Cheol-soo Yang, mutually donated 1 million won each, helping to revitalize the Hometown Love Donation System.

Mayor Byeong-gi Moon said, “I find it very meaningful to participate in the Hometown Love Donation in the area where I first began my public service. “Through this opportunity, we hope to continue to strengthen our close cooperative relationship and achieve win-win development in various fields,” he said.

Yang Cheol-soo, head of the Sports Promotion Department, said, “Naju and Hwasun are very close neighbors historically and geographically. “It is connected by the Yeongsangang River and the Jiseok River, and in Hwasun, there is Olympic badminton gold medalist Lee Yong-dae, and in Naju, there is world No. 1 player Ahn Se-young,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million won per year to local governments other than their address. Donors are provided with a gift worth up to 30% of the donation amount, and a tax deduction of 16.5% is given for the full amount up to 100,000 won, and for amounts exceeding 100,000 won.
