Lioncelles de l’Atlas U17 Secure Spot in World Cup Qualifying Final Round

The Lioncelles de l’Atlas U17 won their ticket to the final round of qualifying for the World Cup in the category, beating their Algerian counterparts (4-0). They won by the same score in the first leg in Berkane.

The national under-17 team beat (4-0), this Friday, May 17 at the Salem Mabrouki Stadium in Algiers, its Algerian counterpart, in the return match of the third and penultimate round of qualifying for the 2024 World Cup.

The Lioncelles de l’Atlas won on Friday, May 10 at the Berkane municipal stadium, with the indisputable score of 4 goals to 0. A comfortable advantage which allowed them to approach this return leg with serenity.

Following this result, the protégés of national coach Youness Rabie qualify for the final round of qualifiers for the next World Cup against Zambia.

The national team and the accompanying delegation arrived on Wednesday May 15 in Algiers after a direct flight from Oujda-Angad airport.

Note that the African selections qualified for the Under-17 Women’s World Cup will be known at the end of the fourth and final round next June.

As a reminder, the 2024 U17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled for October 16 to November 3, in the Dominican Republic.
