Los Angeles (dpa) – LeBron James has been elected to the All-NBA team of the best basketball league in the world for the 20th time in 21 seasons. The 39-year-old superstar from the Los Angeles Lakers is the oldest professional to receive this honor. This time, James was elected to the All-NBA third team in the vote among 99 journalists. 20 appointments among the top 15 players in the league are a record. James is followed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan, who were each selected 15 times.
In contrast to the previous season, this time the teams could be selected regardless of position. The Serbian Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), the Slovenian Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) and the Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) were chosen by a large margin as the top five of the past regular season.
