The 2023-2024 interclub season ended in style for the badminton club, Le Volant Gigeannais.
The Departmental 2 team, led by its captain Cyril Gaillard and composed of Marianne Pigassou, Florence Dubois, Élodie Lona, David Arbousset, Hoang N’Guyen, Mickael Haon and president Pierre Canard, rose to first place in his hen with a good head start.
This performance allows them to move up to the top series, which they were able to celebrate during their last victorious meeting with the friendly club Florensac. Thus, at the start of the 2024 school year, they will play in D1. The two other interclub teams also did well. Departmental 3 by Christian Scheidt finished in second place, perhaps allowing him to reach the next level (answer in September).
Finally, the Departmental 4 team, led this year by Axel Coustenoble, managed to hold on despite particularly difficult encounters. To close the season, the club will bring its members together at the general meeting on Tuesday, June 18, to take stock and talk about the future over a meal.
