Still, Poyer is sure to get ribbed by new teammates and South Beach media for his comment. The veteran’s acknowledgment that his quote “might go viral” is a nod that it’s all in the game.
After earning an All-Pro and Pro Bowl nod during his seven years in Buffalo, Poyer joins Tua Tagovailoa and a revamped defense in Miami. Like Buffalo, the Dolphins are attempting to get over the playoff hump in an AFC dominated by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Staying in the division, Poyer will face Allen and the Bills twice, including in Week 2 in Miami, the first Thursday Night Football showdown on Prime Video this season.
