DThe New York Knicks are still missing a win in the play-offs of the North American basketball league NBA in order to reach the finals of the Eastern Conference. The New Yorkers celebrated a 121:91 win at home on Tuesday and lead 3:2 in the best of seven series. Defending champion Denver Nuggets also took a 3-2 lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves after a 112:97 home win. Nuggets star Nikola Jokic received his third MVP trophy before the match.

At Madison Square Garden, the Knicks took the lead in the first quarter and never relinquished it. The best man on the floor was once again Jalen Brunson, who scored 44 points. Although the Knicks were in the lead by at least ten points for long stretches, the game often got heated: After forming a pack, several players received a technical foul. Game six of the series will take place on Saturday night in Indianapolis. The Knicks are hoping for their first Eastern Conference finals appearance since 2000.

In Denver, Jokic was once again outstanding in the Nuggets’ clear home win. With 40 points and 13 assists, he played a big part in the victory and also proved why he deserves the third trophy as MVP (“most valuable player”).

Tuesday’s NBA playoff results (2nd round/conference semifinals, “best of seven”):

Eastern Conference: New York Knicks – Indiana Pacers 121:91 (Stand in der Serie 3:2)

Western Conference: Denver Nuggets – Minnesota Timberwolves 112:97 (Stand 3:2)
