The Dallas Mavericks have a promising place in the current basketball playoffs. A groundbreaking decision has now been made early on for the future.

Dallas – Dirk Nowitzki’s former teammate Jason Kidd has extended his contract as basketball coach of the Dallas Mavericks for the long term. National player Maxi Kleber’s team announced that the 51-year-old Kidd had signed for several years. The Mavs did not announce an exact term.

Kidd, a coach in Dallas since 2021, had secured the Mavericks’ only championship in the North American professional league NBA in 2011 as a player together with Nowitzki.

In the current playoffs, Dallas, led by star player Luka Doncic, recently beat the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2. Starting Wednesday (3:30 a.m. CEST), the best-of-seven series against the Oklahoma City Thunder will be fought for a place in the Western Conference finals.
