Chengdu, China (ANTARA) – The Indonesian men’s badminton team is ready to field their best strength to win the title in the 2024 Thomas Cup final which will be held at the Chengdu Hi Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Chengdu, China, Sunday, starting at 17.00 WIB.
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is still the first men’s singles player and will meet Shi Yu Qi in the first match. These two top players have met quite often on the field, with Shi collecting 8 wins from their 10 meetings so far.
However, their last meeting at the BWF World Tour Finals 2023 was won by Ginting via rubber game with a score of 11-21, 21-7, 21-17.
In the 2024 Thomas Cup series of matches, Ginting suffered one defeat from five appearances. Meanwhile, Shi has not lost a single match in five matches so far.
With fairly balanced strength, Ginting has an open opportunity to open up the first point for Indonesia in this top round.

Moving on to men’s doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will meet world number one pair Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang. So far, Liang/Weng are 4-2 ahead of Fajar/Rian, and have lost twice in their five appearances in the 2024 Thomas Cup series.
