Iga Świątek reached the final in Madrid
At the beginning of the second set in the semifinals of the WTA Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid, Madison Keys once again resorted to extreme measures – and took off the long-sleeved top. But even the cold shock didn’t bring about a change in the American’s favor. Swiatek acted too confidently and powerfully at the same time, confidently moving into the final with 6:1 and 6:3. And with long sleeves throughout.
In the final, which will take place on Saturday, Swiatek will face either Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka. The two will meet Manolo Santana today in the last match of the day. Swiatek already played the final against Sabalenka in the Caja Magica last year – and lost in three sets.
A good tournament still came to an end for Madison Keys. After all, Keys defeated the more highly rated Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur on the way to the semi-finals.
