ID Logistics, one of the European leaders in contract logistics operating in 18 countries, has taken a significant step towards a greener future with the addition of 30 new sustainable vehicles. Specifically, the company has included two 100% electric Volvo FM tractor units and 28 Volvo FH tractors with I-Save technology in its fleet. This acquisition reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and reducing the environmental impact in its logistics operations, as reported in a statement.

Since last summer, the two Volvo FM Electric units have been operating within the ID Logistics fleet, demonstrating exceptional performance. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these electric trucks have exceeded expectations in terms of energy efficiency, operational performance and loading capacity. Its performance has validated the feasibility and effectiveness of electrification of freight transportation, reinforcing ID Logistics’ position as a leader in the adoption of sustainable solutions in the logistics industry.

The Volvo FM Electric model, a pioneer in the heavy transport industry, reaches a range of up to 300 kilometers, highlighting its powerful and smooth driveline. These vehicles have three electric motors that are combined with Volvo’s I-Shift gearbox, and that offer three different powers: continuous axle of 315kw (430PH), peak axle of 490 kW (666HP) and instantaneous torque up to 2,400 Nm. Likewise, they are equipped with latest generation batteries, with a total energy storage of 540kWh.

In addition to electric trucks, ID Logistics has gradually integrated 28 Volvo FH units equipped with I-Save technology into its fleet in recent months. These trucks, recognized for their fuel efficiency and low emissions, represent an additional step in the company’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions on its routes and optimizing resources. The first results and consumption figures have positioned these vehicles as the consumption leaders in the ID Logistics fleet.

“Innovation and sustainability is part of the DNA at ID Logistics. We are constantly looking for new ways to optimize our logistics operations and improve our customers’ experience. “The introduction of advanced technologies such as Volvo FM electric trucks and FH units with I-Save technology allows us to offer more efficient and sustainable transport solutions, while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability”, Guillermo Martínez, Transport Director of ID Logistics Iberia.
