Let’s first remember the criteria for the Super Max.
Eligibility
– Seven or eight seasons behind us
– Not having changed teams, unless there were exchanges during the first 4 seasons
Criteria (one of three)
– MVP in one of the three seasons prior to the extension
– All-NBA in the season before the extension, or in two of the previous three
– Defensive Player of the Year in the season prior to the extension, or in two of the previous three
Salary and extension seasons
– First year salary equal to at least 30% of the salary cap and not exceeding 35%.
– Maximum 6 years, including the remaining period of the contract.
