French Archers Shine in European Championships Round of 16, Eyeing Gold in Individual Events

France will have six archers in the round of 16 of the European Championships in the recurve category. A ten out of ten for Jean-Charles Valladont, Lisa Barbelin and Amélie Cordeau who join Thomas Chirault, Baptiste Addis and Caroline Lopez in the next round. The French delegation will try to do better than its gloomy record in 2022: a silver medal in individual women’s compound arch.

Mixed teams stopped

A category in which we will find the reigning European vice-champion in the round of 16 Sophie Dodémont. Among the men, Quentin Baraër will challenge one of the best players in the world, the Dane Mathias Fullerton after his victory this Thursday.

But success was not there in the mixed team competitions. Thomas Chirault and Lisa Barbelin in recurve arch did not resist the British (5-3) while in compound arch Sophie Dodémont and Victor Bouleau narrowly lost 20-19 against Croatia in the final set.

The Blues will have the opportunity to forget their defeats this Friday morning with the continuation of the individual events. Thomas Chirault and Lisa Barbelin will be the leaders who represent chances of medals.
