Four Troyes players suspended as a precautionary measure after the incidents against Valenciennes

Troyes is experiencing a nightmare season. Two days before the end of the season, its relegation to the National is almost complete, a year after that to Ligue 2, and ESTAC has just suspended four of its players.

“We were disappointed to see four players send some smoke bombs from the field into the stands. Despite multiple provocations, it is clear that their reactions were equally dangerous. These players are now laid off as a precautionary measure,” said Troyes in a press release, which is awaiting the decision of the Professional Football League which must rule on the match. If the Aube club loses the match on the green carpet, its descent to the third level of French football would be official.

The Trojan club also communicated on the sanctions taken against the supporters. “We have reviewed CCTV footage and have identified nine people, who will now have their season tickets and tickets canceled, and will be subject to a maximum ban on access to the stadium. The identity of these people has also been communicated to the police authorities, who will determine whether they will be subject to prosecution,” ESTAC wrote in its press release.
