Basketball Fenerbahçe Beko’s head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, who lost 87-84 to the Greek team Olympiakos in the THY EuroLeague Final Four third place match, said that the team showed character in general, but could not show the necessary fight in some departments.
Speaking at the press conference held after the match at the Uber Arena in Berlin, the capital of Germany, Jasikevicius started his words by congratulating Olympiacos.
Stating that they showed an inconsistent effort throughout the match, the Lithuanian coach said, “Maybe we could not show the necessary fight in some parts, but overall, I can say that we showed character. Underlining that Olympiacos Head Coach Georgios Bartzokas is a good coach, Jasikevicius said, “I can say that the Bartzokas style of basketball is that his team moves the ball around, they attack patiently, and no player plays selfishly. They are ready to make serious sacrifices. You cannot score 30 points in every game to catch up with the averages in European basketball.
