Ethan Mbappé is well on his way to LOSC Lille, reports the French Foot Mercato. While it was thought in Spain that the seventeen-year-old midfielder would go to Real Madrid with brother Kylian, the French youth international remains active in Ligue 1. With his choice, Ethan Mbappé also turns his back on Paris Saint-Germain after seven seasons.

Fayza Lamari, the mother of the Mbappé brothers, confirmed this week that Ethan is also leaving PSG. “Is there emotion? Of course. Both my children are leaving the club. They were seven wonderful years. Those years were magical. Paris is magical.”

Ethan Mbappé, like his older brother, is out of contract in the French capital, meaning Lille does not have to pay a transfer fee. The left foot chooses to continue playing in France, which means Borussia Dortmund and Queens Park Rangers miss out.

Ethan Mbappé played 84 minutes in PSG’s main squad this season, spread over 5 appearances. The midfielder has not yet managed to score any goals or assists. However, he was able to add the French national title and Super Cup to his list of achievements this season.

Ethan Mbappé is Kylian’s brother who is eight years younger, who plays as a defensive or controlling midfielder. In recent years he has impressed in PSG’s youth academy, where he played together with revelation Warren Zaire-Emery. Ethan Mbappé showed over the past two seasons in the Youth League that he has great potential, just like his brother.

In Lille, Ethan Mbappé joins a talented group. The number four of the Ligue 1 has two absolute teenage talents under contract: Leny Yoro and Ayyoub Bouaddi. Lille will participate in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League next summer.
