Domenico Pozzovivo: “I understood what life was”

We can’t miss him, stuck on his bike, complaining at the end of the stages when he is poorly directed by his staff, still demanding at 41 years old. Domenico Pozzovivo, who is competing in his 18th Giro, a record with Wladimiro Panizza (between 1968 and 1985), has done everything possible to be at the start in Turin. Without a contract in February, the oldest rider in the peloton signed up with VF Group Bardiani – CSF, the training which had trained him and launched him into the professionals in 2005 (Ceramica Panaria – Navigare at the time). He absolutely wanted to compete in one last Tour of Italy, this event which made him suffer so much and which also gave him the best moments of his career like this stage won in 2012. While the race arrived in Naples and that the peloton rests today, the pocket climber (1.65 m, 53 kg), 15th overall this morning, still dreams of a top 10 and the mountain jersey of a race he loves passionately.
