Denizli Chamber of Industry President Selim Kasapoğlu, DSO Board members, DSO member companies and many guests attended the launch and draw.
The opening speech of the program was made by DEBAGED President Sinan Soylu. Soylu explained their efforts to develop basketball culture in the city and thanked Denizli Chamber of Industry President Selim Kasapoğlu for his contributions to the project.
DSO President Kasapoğlu stated that he believes that the project will have positive outcomes with the unifying and healing power of sports. He added that this project will give companies and their employees a breather in the stressful work schedule.
DEBAGED Secretary General Taylan Erdoğmuş informed the participants about the “Denizli Companies Basketball League” and how the tournament will be held.
After the speeches, the draw started. The first draw was made by DEBAGED President Soylu, Abalıoğlu Group of Companies. DSO President Kasapoğlu held the draw on behalf of Altıntop Kuruyemiş. National Team athletes Beyzanur İlçak, Meryem Alaca and Fatma Koçak also participated in the draw and helped the companies’ groups be determined.
24 company teams will compete for the championship in the organization where they will compete with the teams formed by the employees of companies registered with Denizli Chamber of Industry. Companies will play in a single-circuit league status in 4 groups consisting of 6 teams. After the matches, the top two teams in their groups will advance to the semi-finals on their way to the championship. The teams that come 3rd and 4th in the group rankings will move on to the next round for the 2024 season friendship cup matches. The 5th and 6th teams will complete the season with group matches. After the semi-final groups, the top two teams will play in the final four.
With this organization, where we will get away from working life and socialize together, it is aimed to establish strong bonds between our companies and their employees, and to contribute to the sense of belonging and teamwork within the companies. We set out on this path with the belief that it will contribute to the training of future athletes, and the aim is to build basketball courts for schools in need, in cooperation with the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), with the revenues obtained from the organization. The tournament, which will start on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00 at Mektebim College Sports Hall, will continue until July.
