That night took place the third game of the NBA Western Conference Finals, pitting the Timberwolves against the Mavericks. The Dallas players once again widened the gap with a third victory in a row (107 – 116) against Karl-Anthony Towns and his teammates. Despite a winning 3rd quarter and Antony Edwards close to a triple-double (26 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists), the Minnesota players did not have the necessary resources to disturb their opponents. On the other side of the field, the two stars of the Texan franchise shone again, Kyrie Irving scored 33 points with 60% shooting success, while Luka Dončić was the author of 33 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 interceptions. With this third success in a row, the Mavericks are now only one victory away from qualifying for the NBA Finals. The Timberwolves still have a chance to see the finals of the playoffs, but they will have to perform flawlessly and win the next four games of the series.
