Club Brugge Set to Secure Second Summer Transfer: Zaïd Romero on His Way to Venice of the North

Club Brugge’s second summer transfer is almost a certainty now. After Ardon Jashari, already announced, it was Zaïd Romero who himself spoke of his arrival in Venice of the North.

Although Club Brugge has not yet officially found its future sporting director, while Vincent Mannaert has now left his post, he is nonetheless already working on the future. The arrival of Ardon Jashari from FC Lucerne was already announced several months ago, and this will only be the first summer transfer.

Very quickly, a second name was announced: that of Zaid Romero (24 years old), 24-year-old central defender playing for the Argentinian club Estudiantes. A transfer which we expected to be made official quite quickly, like that of Jashari.

But since this information from April, nothing from the Club. It is the player himself, ultimately, who has just lifted the veil and confirmed more than half-heartedly that he was indeed going to sign with the Blauw & Zwart, in an interview given to the local press.

“I know that I am very close to playing for Bruges. It’s everything I dreamed of since I was a child, and I will enjoy every moment,” rejoices Romero at the microphone of UNLP Radio, in Argentina.

Zaïd Romero should cost between 5 and 6 million at FC Bruges. A considerable amount, but the solid Argentinian defender is a pillar of his championship, and we know that Bruges has always taken advantage of the South Argentinian sector.
