Organized by Chubut Deportes and the Andean Patagonian Archery Club of Esquel, an archery evaluation is being carried out at the local Rural Society Club, which began last Saturday and will last until this Wednesday.
About 40 athletes from different parts of the province take part in it, falling into the Under-15 and Under-17 categories, in addition to the categories for athletes with disabilities.
The event was divided into two stages: On Saturday and Sunday, a competition was held in room mode; while, from Monday to Wednesday, a training camp is held for the aforementioned categories.
From the Andean Patagonian club, Román Campos, explained that “this event generated the possibility that athletes from all over the province could meet during these five days to carry out the activity. This is unprecedented, it had never been done in the discipline.”
“In our sport, only the national team held this type of competitions and concentrations. But it is the first time that a province holds a 5-day competition, where all its
participants have their expenses covered; “It is something unprecedented and remarkable,” he added.
What remains for this Tuesday and Wednesday is the evaluative instance of the selection; where the team’s coaching staff evaluates which athletes will make up the concentration. “Likewise, we are continually working on technical aspects of the shooting sequence with all the athletes who are part of it,” Campos noted.
This concentration is carried out with the objective of continuing to promote the discipline and strengthen competition between the Chubut clubs that develop it.
