Carlos Alcaraz Withdraws from Rome Masters Due to Arm Injury: French Open Title Hopes in Jeopardy

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn his entry for the upcoming Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Rome due to an injury to his right arm.

After the third-ranked player started his clay court season late in Madrid, he lost to the Russian Andrej Rublev in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, an injury he suffered before is causing him problems again. “I felt a pain in my arm,” the 20-year-old announced via his “X” account. “I need to recover, be 100 percent pain-free.”

An edema in the forearm is said to be the reason for Alcaraz’s pain, who is considered one of the hottest contenders for the title at the French Open in around three weeks.
