Capitals hire Canadian Fleming as head coach

The new head coach of the Vienna Capitals is Gerry Fleming. The 56-year-old Canadian most recently worked for the Swiss first division ice hockey team EHC Kloten. In Vienna he received a one-year contract with the option of an extension.

Fabian Scholz will act as his assistant, and Bernhard Starkbaum will support him as goalkeeper coach. The duo had already worked in these roles last season when the Caps missed out on the play-offs in the ICE League under interim coach Christian Dolezal.
