Pep Guardiola considers his former player Vincent Kompany to be a suitable candidate for the coaching position at FC Bayern.
“If that happens, I’ll be happy,” said Guardiola. “I have a lot of respect for his work, because of his personality and his knowledge of the game,” said the Manchester City coach and former Bayern coach about the 38-year-old Belgian, who is considered a top candidate for the Munich club. “I would be happy if Bayern makes the best decision because I love this club for many, many reasons,” said the Catalan.
According to information from the TV channel Sky, Bayern are in advanced negotiations with the former Bundesliga player from Hamburger SV. According to the report, Kompany is to receive a contract in Munich until 2027. In addition, the German record champions still have to agree on a transfer fee with Kompany’s previous club, FC Burnley. The coach still has a contract with the Premier League relegated team until 2028.
