The Betclic Élite season is coming to an end. Before the finals, scheduled for June 4, the four highest-ranked teams from the regular season are still competing in the final four of the playoffs. Tuesday evening, Paris Basketball ensured qualification for the semi-finals in the first playoffs in its history by winning its match 3 against Cholet (74-62), who had beaten them in the inaugural match six days earlier. In the semi-final, Tuomas Iisalo’s men will face Asvel, who eliminated the Picards of Saint-Quentin in two matches.
The winner of this semi-final, who will have to win three matches and not two as in the previous round, will find either Monaco or Bourg in the final. If the Monegasques initially scared themselves during their first match against Le Portel, eighth in the regular season, they unfolded to win 101 to 70 in Calais. For its part, Bourg-en-Bresse had to go until match 3 to defeat Nanterre (90-74) on Monday evening.
The semi-finals of the playoffs begin this Thursday, May 23. Better ranked than their opponents, Monaco and Paris respectively host Bourg and Asvel in the first two matches, scheduled for Thursday and Saturday before match 3 which will take place on Tuesday May 28 in Bresse and at the Astroballe. If at the end of these three matches, no winner is chosen, a fourth or even a fifth meeting will be scheduled.
