Bayern Star Thomas Müller Announces European Championship Nomination on Instagram, DFB Denies Involvement

Bayern star Thomas Müller announced his nomination for the home European Championship in a video on Instagram. But the DFB has nothing to do with it.

The German European Championship footballers are currently being announced in a variety of ways and through all kinds of channels. Thomas Müller must have thought about what influencers, roofers, the “Tagesschau”, bakers and kebab shops can do for a long time.

The FC Bayern veteran posted a video clip on social media on Wednesday in which he can be seen wearing a German jersey at the Allianz Arena. The 34-year-old chose #em2024 as the hashtag.

So is this another channel through which the German Football Association announces one of its players for the home tournament? Obviously not. When asked, the DFB said this was not an official action by the association, but rather Müller’s own work. The Bayern prankster apparently made a little joke.

In fact, the core of the video clip is certainly correct. Müller is considered a safe squad candidate for the European Championships. National coach Julian Nagelsmann will officially announce his entire squad this Thursday.
