Barely a week after the Grand Slam in Dushanbe, head to Kazakhstan and Astana for the last Grand Slam of the season!
A competition with 450 fighters from 84 countries. Among them, ten French people, four of whom were selected for the Paris Olympics: Shirine Boukli (-48kg), Sarah-Léonie Cysique (-57kg), Romane Dicko (+78kg) and Walide Khyar (-66kg).
A tournament where we could witness a very high-level duel in the +78kg since Akira Sone, the Japanese Olympic and reigning world champion, will be present. Seeded No. 5, the Japanese could – should? — find Romane Dicko, seeded No. 1, in the semi-final! The two fighters have not “taken” each other since the Tokyo Olympics!
In -57kg, big density for Sarah-Léonie Cysique since the Canadian Christa Deguchi, the Brazilian Rafaela Silva and the Japanese Haruka Funakubo, Japanese Olympic holder and Kaja Kajzer, vice European champion two weeks ago.
In -48kg, Shirine Boukli, who has not fought since the Grand Slam in Paris where she won, will be the only judoka in the top ten in the world. An excellent opportunity to take 1000 points and move up to second place in the Olympic ranking list!
