Arne Slot follows Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool FC: coach reveals it himself

Last week, English and Dutch media unanimously reported on an agreement. The Premier League club had reached an agreement on a move with Slot’s current employer Feyenoord Rotterdam. According to the Daily Mail, around 10 million euros are being discussed as a transfer fee for the 45-year-old.

“A good guy”

Klopp, who is leaving Liverpool, also spoke positively about his possible successor. “I like the way his team plays football. Everything I’ve heard about him is that he’s a good guy, a good coach.”

Slot has been working successfully at Feyenoord since the 2021/22 season, where he succeeded Dick Advocaat. In his debut season he reached the final of the Conference League with Rotterdam, and a year later he led the club to the championship. Most recently, Rotterdam won the national cup final under Slot.

Klopp will play his last competitive game as coach of the traditional club on Sunday (5 p.m., live on Sky) against Wolverhampton Wanderers and then say goodbye after more than eight and a half years. “We had a great time and I know it will be hard,” said the former coach of Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund about the upcoming farewell: “I don’t know how many shirts I signed in the last week, but there were a couple. Everyone should really have one now.”
